2021

2021

I’m not here to share my goals and new year’s resolution for 2021 with you, because quite frankly I think we can all use a pat on the back for the past year we have all witnessed and gone through. 2020 wasn’t exactly how any of us envisioned starting off a new decade (but definitely a year/decade we’ll never forget). Please remember to pause and reflect on the progress you’ve made. Celebrate yourself for all the things you’ve achieved and overcome. It’s okay if the goals that you’ve set for yourself weren’t achieved, it’s okay if you took steps backward instead of forward. Everyone has gone through an uncomfortable amount of change this year. Some change that forced us to step outside of our “normal” but was a blessing in disguise and other change was probably unbearable pain we never want to go through again. I have unfortunately been through all the emotions of change.

This past year I have had three different jobs due to the pandemic, tested my patience with relationships (family, friends, faith, dating, etc.), lost a life of a loved one, and more. But I have also re-learned to love old hobbies, slowed down the pace of my lifestyle, budgeted unexpectedly, and opened my eyes to living a little more of a simpler life. What I miss the most from our past lives is being able to see and hug my family/friends without fearing for each other’’s lives. It’s important to remind ourselves that this is temporary and hopefully the end of living through a global pandemic is near if we play our cards right.

3 IMPORTANT THINGS WE’VE LEARNED IN 2020 — @ronwritings

  1. Being content in your own prescence is the most powerful thing you can do for yourself.

  2. Make a commitment to the decisions you’ve made. If not, progress will never happen.

  3. It’s better to be with people who lift your engery than to be alone. It’s better to be alone than to be with people who drain your energy.

I wish that these unfortunate events from the past year weren’t the reason why we learned these lessons. I pray for a better year ahead of us. Cheers to a new beginnings. Happy New Year, lovelies. ✨
