5 Ways to Work with Brands

How to Work with Brands

Hello, lovelies. ✨ Starting off the year strong with some new blog posts. I have been a little MIA lately due to my full-time job and freelancing part-time. I barely have to shoot content and create new posts with advice and tips for those of you who are curious to start your own brand. But I am taking this holiday break by getting a head start and taking time to myself to do what I love most — CREATING.

I get a lot of questions about how I work with brands and have the inspiration to shoot the right content? I started working with brands for real starting in late 2018. For real = getting product/clothes sent to me for free and getting paid rate offers with brands. Sharing my advice and tips with you that worked best for me that I learned over the years.

5 WAYS TO WORK WITH BRANDS:

POST CONSISTENTLY: Choose a platform where you have the strongest following and engagement. My strongest platform is Instagram. With the Instagram algorithm constantly changing, you really have to play with WHEN to post. Although I don’t post as much as I used to, what works BEST for me is posting once a week and in the morning.

STICK TO A NICHE: I love to post about my style and tips for creating content. As much as I have other interests and love to travel, my main focal point when I shoot are my outfits!

CREATE A MEDIA KIT: There are plenty of templates online that you can replicate when you create a media kit. This is a document you send to brands when you are pitching on why you should work together.

JOIN AMBASSADOR PROGRAMS: This is how I started shooting with brands before I worked with them. Although clothing isn’t free when you’re an ambassador, if you fit the brand aesthetic you usually receive 30 - 50% off clothing. This is the best way to start creating content with brands by getting a certain percent off. Sometimes companies send you a branded link to track commissions.

ENGAGEMENT: Make sure to follow the brands on social media, like/comment on their posts, and tag them if you’re wearing their product (even if you’re not officially working with them). This will help with exposure and hopefully better your chances for them to work.

I hope this helps! Don’t forget to follow along for more tips and advice. 🤍
